On Wednesday nights during Life University, we offer a series of classes to help develop a healthy faith that looks at life from a God-centered perspective. From parenting to managing your money, our classes aim to deal with the issues relevant to your life and help you grow in God.

We offer Life University classes and activities for all ages. Your preschoolers can enjoy recreation-based programs or learn about missions here and around the world. The children do Bible drills, learn about missions and prepare an annual Christmas musical. The Student Ministry and College and Young Singles Ministry also offer applicable and age-appropriate Life University classes.

KEEP CLIMBING

Life is Hard. We pray and ask God to help, but many times it seems like He is not there. We know God is able, yet our situation remains the same. What is His purpose? When will He act? Filmed on the highest summit in Europe, Mt Elbrus, at over 18,500 ft, Todd Phillips uses this backdrop to explore how God works with us through the challenges of our lives.

TOUGH SAYINGS OF JESUS

We will delve into passages of scripture that challenge the comfortable vision of the Son of God that many have created. Jesus
refuses to be put into a box. Each week, you will be challenged to think, question, digest and move past the surface of Jesus’ hard words - instead of avoiding them. Our goal is to grow as a result of our struggling with Jesus’ teachings.

ADOPTION DISCOVERY

Wondering about adoption? Here are some common questions: What’s the difference between international, domestic, and foster care? How do I get started? What should I expect? How can I pay for it? If you are looking for answers, this is the course for you. You will hear advice from adoption professionals and experts on DVD and interact with real families at Chets that have adopted. If you have ever considered how you might impact a child’s life for eternity, here is your first step.

The Good $ense Budget Course helps participants discover tools and develop skills that enable them to control their finances, rather than
allowing their finances to control them. Participants get practical help and guidance to: prioritize financial goals, develop a personalized spending plan, identify action steps to reduce expenses and reduce debt.

EXPERIENCING WORSHIP

Experiencing Worship is a 6-week study on the topic of worship. Covering a wide spectrum of worship, you will come away with an understanding of worship and what it means in your life. Class is accompanied by 24 days of devotionals that enhance the study.

MISSIONS EXPLORERS (Preschoolers)

This semester we will be highlighting missionaries from all around the world that Chets supports. We will learn from the Zittrauers in Roatan, the Pullens in East Asia, Vusumzi Ndabazandile in South Africa and Robby Angel in Nepal. We will learn about each country geographically and culturally and will highlight the missionaries who serve God there.

PATHWAYS (MS Students)

Most Christians know that they need to be studying the Bible but really don’t know how to do it. In this course we will explore what “studying the Bible” is all about and how to do it. Students should bring their Bible, a notebook and a pen to each class.

A course based on James McDonald’s book, "When Life is Hard." Emphasis: “WHEN”; not “IF”. Each of us has faced and will face difficult times in our lives. The Christian life is not an easy life, it is a purposeful challenge. Nothing in this study will make your life easier. The vibrant, in-touch life that God has for us as Christians was never designed to be easy. Instead of looking for a quick-fix, we will discover biblical truths and principles that will lead us to understand, cope with and actually benefit from hard times.

BUSINESS BY THE BOOK

This course will teach businesspeople in all walks of professional life how to practically achieve success and conduct business according to biblical principles. Practical counsel will be given on a variety of business topics such as: hiring and firing decisions, pay increases and promotions,
guidelines for selecting managers, borrowing and lending decisions and forming corporations and partnerships.

MUSIC THEORY

This course uses songs from CCLI’s top 25 praise and worship songs to teach you to read music, understand theory and improve your musical gift. All basic concepts of music theory will be taught in a very concise, easy and practical manner that you will understand.
