THE NARROW PATH: How The Subversive Way of Jesus Satisfies our Souls
Wednesdays from 6:30-7:30pm
October 8 to November 5 (5 sessions)
Hodges Campus - Room TBD
Leader: Mike HodgeModern life often overloads us with choices. What we think, how we act, and, ultimately, where our lives are headed are all influenced by what we value. For Christians, if we aren’t intentional with our choices, we can wind up far from where God intends us to be. In this study, author and pastor Rich Villodas will teach us about the formative choice we face: Will we walk the narrow path of Jesus or the broad path that leads to despair? While the narrow path may seem restrictive, when we walk it with Jesus, we will find the fullness of life we long for.

Embrace Grace is a support group for women walking through the unsteady season of an unexpected pregnancy. Our team is focused on meeting their spiritual and practical needs. At the end of the group, we provide the women with a Princess Day, pampering them with hair, make up, nails and dressing up for the very own maternity photos. We then host a huge Baby Shower with their families and our church family, showing each mom they are no alone in this season! Embrace Life is a continuation of the journey and provides an opportunity to continue supporting these new moms.

RESPECTABLE SINS: CONFRONTING THE SINS WE TOLERATE
by Jerry Bridges
Leaders: Glenda Harris and Kristen Veniard
October 9 – December 11 (skipping Thanksgiving week)
Thursdays at 10:00amHave we become so preoccupied with the major sins of our society that we have lost sight of our need to deal with our own, more subtle sins? Jerry Bridges addresses a dozen clusters of specific “acceptable” sins that we tend to tolerate in ourselves―such as jealousy, anger, judgmentalism, selfishness, and pride. Jerry writes not from a height of spiritual accomplishment, but from the trenches of his own battles with sin. In his admonitions, Jerry offers a message of hope in the profound mercy of the gospel and the transforming grace of God as the means to overcome our “respectable sins.” Please read the first session before the first class.

We don't know all their names. Some are referred to in Scripture only by their nationality. Some are known only by where they lived. Some became queens; others lived on the fringes of society. One gave birth to a nation; another gave birth to the Messiah. Their culture often overlooked or discounted the contributions of women, yet the writers of Scripture found these women and the role they played remarkable to the telling of God's story.
